The Feszty Panorama
painting
The sketches made at the Verecke pass were
projected onto the gigantic 120 meter long and 14.5 meter
wide canvas specially woven linen from Belgium. 1000 kg
of paint was used for the 1725 m² large masterpiece.
According to the contract the panorama had to be painted
and mounted in two years.
It would have been physically
impossible for Feszty to paint the whole surface by himself,
therefore he chose more then 10 artists to help him.
The Feszty Panorama painting is 15 meters high and is situated
on the inner surface of a cylinder with a diameter of 38
meters.

Painting, August Strindberg
August Strindberg,
1849 - 1912, was a Swedish playwright and writer. He is
one of the most influential Scandinavian authors, along
with Knut Hamsun, Søren Kierkegaard, Henrik Ibsen
and Hans Christian Andersen.
Strindberg was also a painter,
photographer and alchemist.
