Piero Manzoni
Artist's shit, Merda d'artista, is a work of art by the Italian artist Piero Manzoni. In 1961 Piero Manzoni collected his own faeces in 90 numbered cans and labelled them as 100% pure artist's shit and sold them for the price of their weight in gold. Recently a tin of Merda d'Artista was sold in an auction house in Milan for £81,000.
